Make A DIY Wreath This Christmas: Step-By-Step Guide

White Wonderland Wreath

This year for the first time, we released our Christmas collection on our website. We were very excited about this big step and couldn’t wait to show you our collection. Made up of two styles of florals, the ones we want to talk about are our wreaths. Our DIY wreaths are the perfect Christmas evening activity to do with your family.

Both our Winter Forest and White Wonderland wreath have the same DIY concept and, we will be showing you how to do the Winter Forest wreath in this blog. You can also watch our head florist Maria on YouTube doing a Masterclass on how to do your wreath.

Winter Forest Wreath
Step One: Winter Forest
Once you receive your package of festive goodness, inside it will contain a golden hoop, the long stems required for your wreath – depending on which one you purchased – a gold wire and an Amaranté London ribbon to hold up your wreath. You will need scissors to cut your stems.

Step Two: Winter Forest
Your first course of action is to take the Amaranté London ribbon provided to you and tie it to your hoop. Creating a natural loop for your wreath. This will also give you an idea of where to start building your wreath. As you created a midpoint with the ribbon. It should look something like this.

Step Three: Winter Forest
Gather your provided floral stems, the gold wire, and your scissors. Now you will prepare to make your little bunches. This will help you build your wreath. Take your stems and cut them short, as seen in the image below. This makes it the ideal size to bunch them together.

Step Four: Winter Forest
Pick one piece out of each type of floral and bunch them together, as seen below. Creating a mini bouquet, if you will. Using the gold wire, cut the wire into short pieces enough to wrap around your stems.

Step Five: Winter Forest
Take a short piece of the wire and wrap it around the bottom of your little bunch, making sure you tightly wrap it together. Keep doing this until you have put all your florals into little bunches.

Step Six: Winter Forest
You can start building your wreath with your little bunches of florals. Using more gold wire, you then wrap the little bunch from the bottom to the golden hoop. Make sure you tightly wrap it around, so your bunches don’t fall later.

Step Seven: Winter Forest

Keep doing this with your little bunches. Trick point: make sure you cover the golden wire with the next bunch you are layering on as you go. By the end of it, you shouldn’t be able to see any of the golden wire from the front. Go all the way around in the same direction you started with, creating a visually appealing festive wreath.

Step Eight: Winter Forest

You can choose to only do half of your wreath, giving it an elegant look accompanied by the bare gold hoop. As seen in the image below

Or you could choose to carry all the way around and go for the festive look like this one. This would be an ideal arrangement to put on your front door. Whereas the half wreath would make an excellent addition to your festive decoration indoors.

Step Nine: Winter Forest

Behind your wreath should look something a little like this. The gold wire is hidden behind the florals and can’t be seen from the front.

All there is left to do is hang your wreath up and take a picture of it!
