Not every Christmas installation takes you to Neverland. This one did.

Aqua Shard came to us with a brief that had real heart behind it. Their partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital had set the tone, and we knew immediately where we wanted to take it.

The design process at Amarante always starts with a question: what do we want people to feel? For Aqua Shard, the answer was wonder.

Kay, our founder, has always believed that the best installations don't just decorate a space, they transport you somewhere else entirely.

From there, every decision followed. The tree became a canvas — a living, glowing, immersive world built from lights, colour, texture and movement. Every element of J.M. Barrie's world found its place, layered together into something guests could lose themselves in.

Seven metres tall. Built entirely in-house. Installed in a single night.

Every element was designed and fabricated by our team. Three-metre illuminated Tinkerbell wings that flutter and frame the tree like a halo, a bespoke Neverland clock, hand-placed lanterns casting warm light at every level, and Tick-Tock the Crocodile waiting patiently at the base. Nothing bought off a shelf. Nothing seen anywhere else.

We left traditional red and white behind. Instead, the palette drew straight from the story itself: deep teal for the mermaid lagoon, copper and gold for pirate treasure, rich emerald for the forests of the island. When you commit to a concept, you commit to every detail.

There's something quietly magical about transforming a space while the city sleeps. We arrive after last service with a clear plan and a team who know exactly what they're doing, because everything has been designed, built and prepared in-house long before we set foot in the venue.

Section by section the structure went up. Lights were threaded, wings fixed into place, lanterns positioned, the crocodile set to guard the base. Working seven metres up, through the night, with a venue that needs to open for breakfast — there's no margin for anything less than perfect.

By the time morning service began, Aqua Shard had its own corner of Neverland. The guests arrived to something they hadn't been expecting. That moment when a space transforms and people stop in their tracks, is exactly what we design for. Every time.
